Antonella Cortese
Italian Teacher LS/L2 and Journalist
Antonella Cortese was born in Riva del Garda. She moved to Campania and graduated in Lingue e letterature straniere (Foreign Languages and Literature) in Naples. She then specialized in Japanese and practiced her knowledge of the language in a linguistic improvement period in Tokyo. She then lived in Switzerland and in Germany for some years and moved back to Italy in 2001. She has been living in Italy ever since.
She has worked in several fields, from trading to teaching and journalism. He taught Italian language and culture in some schools in Japan, Switzerland, Germany and Italy.
She collaborated with the Laboratory of Glottodidactic of the University of Parma as a teacher and managed projects among which Interventi a supporto dell’integrazione delle scuole superiori parmensi (Actions for the support of integration of the Parma high schools), promoted by Provincia di Parma in collaboration with the University of Parma and the USP of Parma. She worked as an educator in several workshops such as: “Procedures of welcoming and good practices: actions and actors of a correct integration of the foreign students” in the environment of the Giornata di studi “Develop, evaluate and certify the competences of Italian for studying and increase school success”. Laboratory of Glottodidactic of the University of Parma.
She conducted: “Procedures of welcoming and the PEP in the Italian school” – organized by CTS Rome and Kwa Dunia Parma, for the University of Parma the seminar for TFA teachers “Facilitations of the disciplinar text” – and the seminar: Teaching language and topic contents in the pluri-language and pluri-level class: strategies for a didactic between inclusion and differentiation.
She coordinated international internships in the Erasmus and International Home of the University of Parma and the projects for Teaching Placement, Help for Erasmus, Study Assistant and Trainincoming.
She is the author of the educational book for Italian Language Ascoltare per studiare – Cittadinanza e Costituzione- (Listening to study – Citizenship and the Constitution) Guerra Edizioni.
She co-organized and coordinated, in different years, the Summer Program for the Boston College and University of Connecticut “Parma-Elba Program”.
She taught Italian for Pitzer College, Fondazione Collegio Europeo (Parma), professional Italian for medics at the Centro Linguistico di Ateneo (Parma).
For many years she has taught Italian language and culture to the students of the Boston College.
She currently collaborates with Gazzetta di Parma, she is a writer/editor in the four-month journal FamiliarMente and an editor and conductor of the radio-television programs of Eduradio- Liberi dentro.
She will soon conduct the course “Italian with dubbing”, created and produced with the fellow-dubbers of Sincrodub Bologna.
